History

Housing & Outreach Project for Elderly, Inc. (HOPE, Inc.) was founded in 1983 by members of the Zion and Calvary Mennonite Churches. In February, 2001 our name was changed to Hope Village, Inc. This change reflects the reality of Hope Village as a retirement community. Additional churches in Western Oregon were included in HOPE, Inc. and at present, ten (10) churches are members of the nonprofit corporation. HOPE, Inc.'s purpose is to establish a multi-level retirement community where senior citizens can retire with social, spiritual, recreational, educational and health services available to them.

Hope Village is comprised of 126 Gardenhomes, an 80-unit assisted living facility, a 50 bed rehab and long-term care facility, 2 50-apartment affordable housing apartment complexes, and a community center.
